If I may give my opinion about why the #RoyalWedding is such a big deal.
She is a commoner (an American one at that) bi-racial, divorced and older than him with a family full of chaos. Even though she is a strong, independent woman, most guys run away at the thought of something like that.
The Prince, born to a monarchy that up holds traditions, chose to hold on and fight for this amazing woman.
And most of us women love a man who’d stand by his girlfriend /finance. Coz it’s quite rare.
Can you just imagine the sacrifices she has to make? It’s not going to be an easy life for her. She will have to behave / dress according to what is expected of her. She will have to be extra conscious about her surroundings. Not forgetting the paparazzi who will be following her every move. And I think it’s extremely courageous of her to love another man after a failed marriage. It’s not easy to trust another man when you go through an ordeal.
Not every guy is a prince nor is every girl lucky to marry into royalty. But their story is inspiring.
We live in a society where a woman is judged by the clothes she wear, her family background etc.
When marriage is up for discussion, the status of a family / how much of a dowry they can get etc. is considered for more important.
So yes, the royal wedding is a big deal!
Because they chose to look past all of these things and stand strong for their love for each other. 🤗
There may be stories out there of couples who have gone through far worse to be with the one they love. And we respect them for that.
You have to equally respect these two individuals for standing against all odds.
